Project Overview:

As the Lead Front-End Developer, I was tasked with crafting a bespoke e-commerce platform for JGA, a premier provider of sawn and processed wood products based in Southern Sweden. JGA has a long-standing reputation in the forestry and wood industry, with over 90 years of experience delivering high-quality wood products. My role was critical in helping them transition to a modern digital platform that would allow customers to seamlessly select and purchase wood products online  .

Project Details:

• Custom Integrations:

One of the standout features of the platform was the innovative virtual truck feature, which I helped design and implement. This feature enabled customers to visualize and organize their wood purchases as if they were loading a truck in real-time. This unique functionality optimized the user experience, making it easier for customers to plan their orders and understand the logistics of their purchase.

• Smooth Customer Experience:

Leveraging modern front-end technologies, including React and TypeScript, I ensured that the platform delivered a smooth and engaging experience for users. My focus was on creating responsive and user-friendly interfaces that allowed customers to navigate the platform effortlessly and complete transactions with confidence.

• Collaboration and Optimization:

Working closely with back-end developers and stakeholders, I contributed to optimizing the platform’s performance. This included implementing various performance enhancements to ensure that the site operated efficiently, even as it handled complex transactions and large volumes of product data.

Impact and Benefits:

The custom e-commerce platform successfully provided JGA with a powerful online presence, enhancing their ability to serve both local and international customers. With a focus on ease of use and seamless integration, the platform supported JGA’s ongoing efforts to modernize their business and reach new markets. The virtual truck feature was particularly impactful in improving the user experience, allowing for better planning and organization of large-scale wood product orders.
